Labels of Human: Show It Anymore

    That’s my roll---
    Remember!?!?!
    Like I’m ever to be,
    Could ever be,
Or would ever be anything else

    Dehumanized
    Made to feel
    As if I’m either saint
    Or Anti-Christ
    OH!!!!
I forgot (only for a second)
That I’m not human, I’m whatever you say I am
    THE ROCK,
    THE SWEETHEART,
    THE SMARTASS,
    YOU’RE HEADACHE

    I could never cry
    Or wish to die no,
    Not me the cat
Who always lands on her feet
    THE GOOD FRIEND,
    THE HONEST ONE,
    THE SEMI-MISSGUIDED GIRL

You’ve given me labels and stereotypes
    To trivialize my feelings
    As if I had none
    Because----
    I’M
    THE BITCH,
    THE WHORE,
    THE TWISTED HUMOR YOU SEEK,
    THE FRIEND,
    THE FUCK UP

And that’s how you see me,
    How you’ve always seen me’
    How you’ll always see me

I just want to say one thing
    And that is
    If I’ve made mistakes
Or have hurt people that I love
Then it is because I am truly
    HUMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    You built me up
    To knock me down
    And to make me
Seem like I am some what
Less than worthy to be called
    HUMAN

    Just as I have done
    With those I’ve deemed
    My heroes
    And public figures that
    I’ve deemed to be
    Stupid, evil, dangerous
Or not worthy of media attention

    I guess
    We’ve all done it
    Given labels
To make us feel better about ourselves

    I’ve gotten many
    SWEET,
    GOODIN BED,
    THE BASTARD CHILD...

    Yet!
    I still want to be
    MORE!!!!!!!
More than just crammed and stuffed into
A box that I’d like to say
    I’ll never fit into
    But I can’t and I’m not

    I tired myself out
    Trying to fight labels
    And have just
    Accepted
Them and the fait attached to each label

    The worst thing I’ve
    Could of done
    Because I’ve let you win

    BUT
    DISPITE
    WHAT YOU THINK
    DISPITE
    WHAT THEY SAY
    I’M STILL HUMAN
I JUST DON’T SHOW IT ANYMORE

WOW I'M FLATERED. I actuly owe this one to my exboyfriend/ best friend Mordy. His fucked up life inspired it.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
