Last Goodnight

Last Goodnight

This infection, this disease
Eat me from the inside, please
Freeze my heart, rip out my hair
Feel my tendons, muscles tear
Watch my skin; it cracks and peels
Pain is all I wish to feel
Blackened heart and blackened eyes
What they say, 'I hope she dies'
Smiling as I wilt away
Whither slowly, day by day
Eyes are burning from the light
Eager for that last 'goodnight'

i like it....its very commanding what i mean is it wants u to finish the poem...from the very start i wanted to finish this poem it is very well written and i love it because its short and sweet and gives me shivers in a way, but its very wickedly writtten....dont stop the music u write in these poems ur melody is capturing...

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
