Last Strand

Last Strand

I'm hanging on one last strand
Yearning for an answer
To appease my soul
But I am drowning slowly
In my pool of dreams
I've got nothing but
These temporary feelings
If you will, take these arrows from my heart
They are like a poison dart killing my mind
I try to look around,
But I am blind,
I'm dying,
I'm hanging on one last strand
No matter where I turn
I can't escape what is inside
A burning death which will not cease
I am a candle with no wax
I am an ocean with no salt
I am a tree with no leaves
I am me, but not living free
Keep on going, I will just fade away
Nothing in me wants to stay
I try to look around
But I'm blind,
I'm dying,
I am hanging on one last strand.

Sounds like a cry for help. I hope you find it. We all have something to live for. You just need to find what that is for you.

A heartfelt moving cry of despair is woven throughout this nicely written poem.

point taken. words paint such a real picture of pain and exhaustion. feels like your last breath then u get another one and another til U finally take your last breath. But as Rhymer stated a last strand is all some will ever have. Great write!

Keep hanging on, one last strand is all some will ever have. 10 from me.
