    Late Night

    Where did she go

    A Heart speaks

    Of lonely nights without her

    Will she return

Can she defeat the doubt that has become her

    Still waters below

    In this country night

    No one to blame

It’s just your heart in mine

So show me that’s what you want

If I could take the mistakes away I would

    Now all I seek

Is your tender care of my Hearts affection for you

    I’m directing you for that…

    What’s that feeling…

If you would just show me…

Is there hope for a return

    Of all that was lost

Can it be stronger than it was before

    Will it be better

    Only time can tell

    I’m holding on

    From a distance

Let’s see how far you go

    Fight! Fight for this

    It wasn’t over for me

    I couldn’t stay back

    Couldn’t hold it any longer

A Heart speaks of lonely nights

Will she save what she lost

    She’s not the only one

    Hoping and dreaming

Who holds on tight in the night

    To a stuffed animal

    Late in the night

    He holds true

    To that old feeling

     Late in the night

    It’s not over yet

    For either one

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
