    // leaf //

    When rain spluttered
    over the polyethene roof
    stretching her little palm
    She
    held an aluminum plate
    to collect some rain.

    wetted her nudity
    she
    watered her hands
in spite her mother’s continuous chug
    She
    Played, sprayed and drenched
    Emptied her plate

    wetted the rain.
    .

    yet she was thirsty
    even after the rain

    She nodded
    She danced
    Along the tapping
    Along the tapping
    Along the tapered off rain.

    Still the leaf was dripping.
