    Leaving the Night Life

    I remember when

    I lived in the night

    One drink to the next

    One woman to the other

    Always ending the same

    As empty as I started

At the bottom of the bottle

    Tired of the same type

Nothing but dead ends for the Heart

    No reason to stay

These women aren’t worth a dam

    It’s time to sleep

To see the woman of my Dreams

    New chapter in life

    Living in the day

    Now these are the women

    Worth a dam

    No bottle in sight

    Happy in the light

    Sad to look back

    On all the time wasted

    Grow up

    Play time is over

My true love lives in the light

    I’ll find her soon

    Mean time

    I remain a ghost

    Under the nose

Of the world I once ruled

    And left behind

    Right in front of them

    Yet they have not noticed

    I feel sorry for them

    Their blind to their future

    Making the same mistakes

    I’m over it

    Over it all

The night life can rest easy under the stars

    Missing the light

    But I’ll live instead

    Admiring the things

    That bring true happiness

    In the light

Very well said... love is better when your 5 senses are fully awake. Anyways you want to look for a good woman don't look in night clubs. Go look at church, grocery stores, gyms, and even the park. Look for girls who are family oriented n love their family. If a person loves her parents they will also cherish a family of their own.

Been living in the night life for over 11 years, dancing the night away with beautiful women that lacked a Heart... I looked for so long in the night (life) for Love but till recently realized that Love doesnt live in the night. It only comes in the day.

The emotions in your words are very refined, very troubled. It speaks as though you've awaken from a past that kept you trapped. Very good I like this.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.
