    Letting Go

    TheIt has been awhile
    since we talked
    and,it has been awhile
    since I have cried.

    But tonight when
    I saw you standing there
    I couldn’t help keep tears
    at bay, but I tried.

    I should have known…
    You affect me that way.
    Every time we met,
    With heavy heart, I sighed.

    You don’t feel,
    way I feel.
    Of that, I am
    very sure.
    With affection, I plied.

    But, when you keep me
    at arms length.
    And , show no interest.
    I let go of you, my child.
