Poem Commentary

this one i wrote from true life, a person back in my after so long I never expected it possible. just a little example of my art imitating my life.

Life-Death 7 - Destiny

Some believe in fate, others have their faith,
and some think it's the luck of the draw.
I have never put stock in any of these things,
not even the shit about the shortest straw.
I once felt our lives were pre-ordained,
writ in the Book of Life by God's own hand.
It seemed foolish to think any other way;
now I know my life holds more than I planned.
Eons have passed since the time of your death,
yet you're once again here and alive.
It boggles my mind how you've learned this trick;
how you've learned to cheat death and survive.
I have missed you dearly, my dead heart stone-cold.
Yet as I behold your beauty, it seems to stir again.
Should I try and approach you; does our love still live?
Or will it end with us both feeling pain?
Destiny is a word I don't often use,
but it seems like we have one to meet.
And to have you, any way at all, back in my life
would be a future I'd most willingly greet.

Some believ love knows no boundaries, and can be come again in the next life and the next. Once all hope is gone of rebirth it is often quite unbelievable to feel the stirrings once again. This poem made me think of reunitedness, unplanned resurgence, over again. Made me think of a pattern, repeating over again until it can be complete. Nice write....Write on....

I like this - The way you tell this is really cool - Eons have passed since the time of your death, yet you're once again here and alive. It boggles my mind how you've learned this trick; how you've learned to cheat death and survive.- I can relate to the feeling of an old love as being dead and gone. 10

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
