Life is precious

    Life is precious

    It was Thursday, I awake to a new day,
    Wednesday was gone, and on my knee I pray..
    Help Lord for the faitful has failed from among men,
    Having no thought of where or when;

    Yes I started the day off on good ground,
    Thinking my rested body was safe and sound
    Only to find a pain in my chest,
    causing me to under go a lot of test.

    Blood test, stress test, EKG and more,
    Doctors , technician, nurses, examining and making sure
    One day becomes  two days, and two becomes three
    Needles just ripping through my veins, just wouldn't let me be
    Take nothing for granted, no matter the cost,
    Life is precious my friend, but sad when it is lost.

    Edgar Rochester

    Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
