Lifeless Eyes

Lifeless Eyes

I hear your voice in my head when I sleep.
Now you've entered my soul and I can't make you leave.
Why do torment me with your sweet words?
Why will you not let me leave?
I wish I could silence your bittersweet words, but they repeat over and over.

I see you through lifeless eyes.
You look at me as though it were the first time again.
You brush your hand against my cheek.
It feels so warm against my cold flesh.

You tell me you love me, and you will never love another.
You brush the tears from my eyes, and softly kiss my lips.
You wipe the blood from my chest, and tell me everything is over.
You promise me that I will never hurt again.

And all I can do is watch you, watch you through lifeless eyes.
