    Logan

    “Ten little fingers
    Ten little toes
    Two eyes of blue
    and a button nose”

    Although cliché
    they still ring true
    And they bring great joy
    and love to you.

    The chubby cheeks
    and arms and legs
    The gurgles, squeaks,
    and chirps he makes.

    At times he cries
    At times he’ll fuss
    And stock in diapers
    is a definite must!

    But when he laughs
    Or even just smiles
    It makes all the sleepless
    nights worthwhile.

    Every ounce he gains
    Every inch he grows
    And knowing within him
    my blood actually flows

Since the day of his birth
    ‘Til the day I die
    I’ll thank God for Logan
    My blessing in life.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
