Logic and Love

Poem Commentary

I was just thinking about how hardcore philosiphers/ scientists view love. What if they met a truly beautiful man or woman? How would they react, this ellusive emotion, how would they respond?

Logic and Love

These feelings inside me
           aren't natural
      as they violate efficent behaviour

I must admit she's stimulating
          but only for the fact
      to continue our race

I'm distraught at this
          continuity
      brought at her favor

One look at these
          characteristics
      ups my heart rate

I fight back such urges
         innapropriate
       and obscure

I have pointlessly pondered
        the reasons
for which I'd list her

And one day when I
        brought such inane ideas
  before her

The only logical thing
        next
   was to kiss her

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
