Lost in Translation
I find my thoughts lost,
I try to understand,
I think outside the box,
I read between the lines,
I hold my breath and listen......
I hear the beating of the drum in my chest,
boom, boom, boom, boom
Rhythmic slow and steady.
I still wait to hear your words,
I wait for the spirits to answer and guide.
I hear nothing but the drum,
still beating still booming.
I take a deep breath and wait,
how will I know you are hear with me?
Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
