  • Do the one thing you think you *can not* do. Fail at it. Try again. Do better the second time. The only people who never tumble are those who never mount the high wire. Thie is you moment. Own it!!! Do it!!! Achieve !!!! Good Luck to all you wonderful poets out there.

Poem Commentary

Dedicated to all my wonderful friends in South Africa. This was inspired my one of your elderly...God love his soul...who has gone on to be with his maker.

Lost. Lonely, and Heartbroken

I saw an old man upon
his stoop he sat,
And in his wrinkled hand
A hat!

He recollects the memories
Of laughter he once knew,
But sits alone now...
Just with a suitcase
And a pair of old shoes.

He waits, seem for hours,
For someone he does not know,
To take him away to a strange place,
Where they say it is so cold with snow.

But he knows down deep within,
There is hope and comfort too,
He will lay aside his burdans of
Sadness, wrinkles, suitcase, hat and shoes.

He will close his eyes in death
And sail to worlds unknown
To a land that's call Heaven,
Where he will never again be alone!
