lost one

lost one

once I was basking in the light
but when I blinked it was gone
and, try hard as I might,
the seeds of my fate are sown,

cast down upon the wasteless ground
my destiny is sealed
and with you my heart is bound
but I'll wait until your wounds are healed

so then I can tell you how I really feel
and be it as it may
if I am unable to break your seal
my soul I will lay at bay

if without you I have to stand
I may just fall apart
for my body I will not command
as the tears bleed from my heart

once I was basking in the light
but when I blinked it was gone
for it seems out of spite
my heart you used as a pawn

heart break, where would we be without it. It makes us all stronger. just don't gather too much scare tissue. Breaks can't be rebroken. It leads to a hard heart. true love exists,

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
