Lost to Yourself

Poem Commentary

I am often times pre-occupied with losing myself to myself, it is a mystery that nags at my brain almost constantly.  So this is one of the times where I was feling completely cut off from the world even thought i was in the midst of it.

Lost to Yourself

How do you escape yourself?  How do you possibly pull yourself out of the chains of your thoughts?  They bind you tighter than society, so many locks without keys.  It is a shame that so many times we get lost to ourselves and can never escape.  How can you possibly escape that which you can not leave?  You can not, it is not possible.  Once you are lost to yourself, you are lost forever.  No one can save you because no one can find you and one can not save what they can not find.  You see, being lost to yourself means that you are so deply buried in the thoughts that run through your mind thickly that you are sucked in, stuck in the philisophical fast-drying cement.  As soon as you stray there it sucks you down into its depths forever.  All of this adds up to one simple truth: you are alone, isolated, stuck with yourself and by yourself, forever.
