    Lost Track Of Time

It seems as if it was yesterday

When I was born, then a child

Anon then, became all grown up.

Standing on the age of twenty five

I felt some day I’d live to fifty

But had no idea it would come

In a very short twenty five years

Looked up one day, I was there,

I’m amazed it came and went

    Without my ever realizing it.

My youth had all been spent.

Now I’m in the autumn years

    My path stretched behind me.

Looking back to where I’ve been

I ask where did the time go

How did it get away so fast?

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
