    Love and Life

I look into his eyes and smile
    How does he not know?
    Happiness is my denial
Oh, how I love him so
    He does not know
    of a love so forbidden
    of love so long ago
    Must I remain hidden?
Life treats me like a crow
    In a flock of swans
    Can't I just go?
    My love I must pawn
    Why does life hate me?
    What have I done wrong?
    "Please, love me." I plea
    I am no longer strong
    I can't handle life anymore
Love is always a cruel trick
Just go away and shut the door
Love is nothing but a painful crick
    Just lt me die
    and wallow in misery
    Love's a loaded lie
    I'm cursed with life's witchery
    Live to love
    Love to live
Both I must be rid of
I have no more to give
    I must end this life
    Bound to hell, this knife
    Bound to hell, I'm slain

When things don't work out the way you want them to, it hurts. What's worse is it seem slike the kind of pain that will never go away, but it does, I know. Good Stuff!

Wow, I can completely relate to this, I have suffered more heartache than I care to share and this really hits home with how I felt during certain periods of my life. The flow of the words is terrific, I really enjoyed this one.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
