Man of The Night (Time is Rare)

Man of The Night (Time is Rare)

With a thick straw, he took a heavy draw

And it laid him on his back

He shut his eyes, took in the high

In the morning it was everything he lacked

The sun, well it never came out to shine

Invincible men are only invincible at night

When the day is done, he’ll cruise the streets

Drink some whiskey, and do things he’ll never speak

But when it’s all over, it’s hell that lies beneath

He knows right from wrong, but doesn’t care

The only time he does is when she’s there

She waits at home for him with a smile that’ll make him cry

He loves her so much, but the night in him confides

Guilt, he knows it’ll haunt his soul

Well when you know right from wrong

Guilt is all you know

As the hangover arises

Another empty promise is what guides him

The love for her is what suffices

If he really loved her, he’d let her go

But the battle to become better is all he knows

His love, it’s really there

He thinks he’ll always have it but time is rare

Time is rare
