    In 17 words you say poetically in syllabic meter all there is to say: a complete and savvy package of rhetoric! I always think its fascinating to embody a story in so few words: ingenious! Applause!

    Years ago while on a camping trip I found a beauty spot-an overhanging ledge-that looked down into a breathtaking view of a valley; a mirage of exquisite splendor. A storm moved in below and I watched as lightning lit up the sky, taking my breath away. Your poem reminds me of this special gift that nature bestowed upon me that day.

    Traditionally, a Haiku is a 5-7-5 syllable sequence, but clearly there are many ways to Haiku, as has been so eloquently demonstrated here on OP by many talented poets. Keep working on it and it gets easier. All the Best to You!

    i want to get back to writing haikus. thank you for still using that ancient form of poetry. we should bring haiku's back into 2010. rockin the haiku! i'm gonna seriously go write some modern haiku's now. thankyou for inspiring me.
