Megan's Bay

Megan's Bay

 Every second moon or so,
 You wander back to me.
Longing to dive into my ocean
 You linger near the shore.
As I emerge from the depths
You come close enough to touch
To taste the mist rising with me.
 Once more you rush away
 A familiar phantom
 A consuming love
 I know you'll always return
 Just never for long.
 Broken again
I glide back into the water
 Residing myself to my fate-
 To always swim alone.

I see a mermaid with golden hair and shimmering body, silently and sensually, submerging in a sparkling inland bay..............Lovely.....

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
