Memories

The memories come inbidden
Flowing freely into my mind
From the darkest recesses of my heart
Playing out like my own movie

The way he looks
THe way he makes ne laugh
His kisses and Caresses
Overwhelming but fierce

My body cries out for his touch
My mind calls me a fool
I loved him witha fierceness

I wonder why this always happens
If I don't learn from my mistakes
I am doomed to repeat them
Caught in a vicious cycle
Praying for release
I no longer know which way is up
And which way is down
Cuaght in this death spiral
Of perpetual pain

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
