    Memories

    Tonight I found a letter
    I had written long ago
About all that we had been through
and how I loved you so.
    As I read I realized
    these feelings were still true
because one by one my teardrops fell
    Now I'm crying over you.
    I don't know why I kept it
    Instead of throwing it away,
but I think that I will keep it still
    to read again someday.
    Maybe when that someday comes
and I open it once more
I'll find my eyes completely dry
    unlike they were before.

Memories are not so easily disposed of by simply throwing them away. Excellent write, brings back memories of my own 10 from me.

ANOTHER BEAUTIFULLY CRAFTED EMOTIONAL MASTER PIECE! SO SAD, MY HEARTS BLEEDS FOR YOU AS I CAN FEEL THE PAIN AS IF IT WAS MY OWN. YOU HAVE A GREAT GIFT FOR OPENING YOUR HEART AND SOUL INTO A BLOOM OF LIFE. MANY POETS WRITE ABOUT FLOWERS, TREES, THE OCEAN, WORLD EVENTS, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH... I GUESS THEY HAVE THEIR MERIT BUT IT IS POEMS LIKE THIS THAT REALLY IS WHAT POETRY IS ABOUT, A PORTAL TO YOUR HEART, A WINDOW TO YOUR SOUL. POETRY IN THE MOTION OF LIFE, AS THE WORDS BECOME MORE THAN OF THEMSELVES AND TRANSEND THE PAGE INTO THE VERTY HEARTS AND SOULS OF THE READER. ANOTHER GREAT POEM I CAN RELATE TO IN MANY WAYS, MORE THAN I WOULD LIKE TO ADMIT. "FORGETING IS LIKE CHALLENGING A THOUSAND SOLDIERS TO BLOOD DEFEAT, BUT REMEMBERING IS CALLING THE DEVIL HIMSELF TO YOUR DOOR". "LIVING IN THE PAST IS CALLING THE DEVIL HIMSELF TO YOUR DOOR, BEWARE OF THE DEADLY CRY, BEWARE OF THE LONGING MEMORY". WORDS OF WISDOM I LEARNED THE AHRD WAY... PURITY OF THE SOUL, JOURNEY WELL!!! ANGEL

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
