    MEMORY

I WISH I COULD ERASE THE MEMORIES
SO MUCH HURT IN MY HEART
YOU SEEM TO HAVE GOTTEN THE BEST OF ME
FOR YEARS I PRAYED TO GOD THAT YOU'D SEE
THAT SHE COULD NEVER BE ME
    YOUR HEART WAS WITH HER
YET YOU WERE STUCK WITH ME
YOU'D THINK I'D REALIZE IT AFTER ALL THE MEAN THINGS YOU SAID TO ME.
HOW COULD YOU NOT LOVE ME
    AFTER EVERYTHING WE WENT THROUGH
SO MANY MEN WOULD DIE FOR ME
BUT FOR SOME REASON I WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU
ALL I WANTED WAS TO GIVE YOU EVERYTHING
I KNOW ONE DAY YOU'LL SEE
BUT FOR RIGHT NOW YOUR JUST A POISONOUS MEMORY.

Really evokes the pain and the longing for something that is out of reach. Very touching.

with much love n side, you will love again./the poet

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
