    Poem Commentary

When I cant find inspiration for a new poem or song, I often take a song I already know and rewrite it. Midnight Blues is actually a song performed years ago by the group ELO (Electric Light Orchestra). So you can listen to the old version on you tube, then sing along with my new version. Enjoy!

    Midnight Blues

    I see the candle light
    Shining down the hall
    I see the shadows
    Reflecting off the wall
I see a man, he's lying next to you
And my heart fills with midnight blues

My eyes have filled with tears
    As I slowly look away
You draw the sheet around you
You dont know what to say
    My minds gone numb
And I dont know what to do
My hearts filled with midnight blues

    I will
    Love you forever
    I will
    Forget you never
    I will
    Remember your midnight blues

I bow my head in sorrow
    And turn to walk away
I hear a voice of anguish
    Screamin out my name
    You reach for me
But theres nothing I can do
My hearts filled with midnight blues

    I will
    Love you forever
    I will
    Forget you never
    I will
    Remember your midnight blues

    I will
    Love you forever
    I will
    Forget you never
    I will
    Remember your midnight blues

    1) ELO, not half bad 2) I love your flow and obvious originality

Hi Mr. Lonewolf, we have to remember that everything happens for a purpose. We may not see the wisdom of it all now but trust and believe in The Lord that everything is for the best. TC, Necy

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
