    • Learning that deliverance doesn't come without a birthing shroud...

    Miles

    I am so delinquent
In checking my voice mails at home...
    ---- fourteen,
    Pull up a chair.

In the midst of all the hum-drumery, though,
    The consistently inconsequential monotones
    of the generally unimportant,
    There it is...
     ---- bam
    The always unexpected voice,
    The only mortal voice
    I've ever known
    That could actually touch me,
    telling me
    Of sweet, summer breezes
    and birdsongs,
    All from the fringes
of a lazy, hazy summers morning nap...
    ---But---
Through the lift and the lull
    of your soulful, sensual whispers,
    You know what I heard?
    I heard...
    I was there.

In the breeze that kissed your face,
the songs that caressed your ears,
the slumber that feathered your body,
    ---I was there
    With you, within you
Even before you dialed the number...
    And you know what?
    I think I take a certain amount
    of twisted pleasure
    in that...

Love it, a soft read yeilding much passion, gotta love a daydream like that. Well done, k

I came back to this again tonight. I like how you say - "I was there"- it can hold different meanings, like "been there, done that", or "I was there within you and your thoughts when you called, which is why you called", or "I feel it too"- the twisted pleasure can be from having something wonderful, captive on your self. 10 from me

Twisted? It is simply a sense of empowerment, apologies to Alfred Adler.

You are a wonderful poet. You tell the old story of passion with a new twist. Sally

Passion involves so many twisted paths intersecting into many other, different paths. Which one to take ? Certainly people like some paths over others. Great write.

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
