Poem Commentary

In Loving Memory to my Aunt!

Misses Crosby

Misses  Crosby

I AWOKE THIS MORNING TO A TERRIBLE STORM.

The rain fierce and the clouds dark;

And I did not know why until the phone rang.

And I learned,

That,someone I loved oh so very much was gone.

Away from the world was an Angel.

So tears filled my eyes, and all the joy left my heart.

I cried until I heard her voice call to me.

And I remember a life time of wonderful memories.

If I was troubled,

She always knew what to say.

If things were wrong,

She seemed to know what to do.

But do not sit down unless you want to know the Truth!

Because, that was what you were going to get.

She would start out with,

Let the Lord lead you life.

 And that is how she would end.

And they were not just words;

That is how she lived,

by the Word!

Tracy, this is a beautiful tribute to a person that sounds worthy of it. Thanks for sharing.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
