Mommy

Early one morning, the doctor announced i was a girl
Ready or not i came to change your world
You probably had no clue how to be a mother
But everyone knew you'd be better than any other
You brought me home one day
And with you is where i would stay
The first few months were tough
And there were times you felt you had enough
Like the nights i did nothing but cry
When you just couldn't figure out why
And with lack of sleep you became frustrated
But look mom, You made it.
The first few years that passed
Seemed to go by so fast
Pretty soon i would walk
Than i began to talk
Shortly after it was bye bye diaper
and help ms. butt whiper
For a while i still needed you to help me get dressed
I still needed you to help me bathe
Than one day i didn't, Were you amazed
I did what i saw you do
After many attempts i slowly improved
But i still needed you for many things
For all the problems my curiosity would bring
I still needed you to take care of my boo boos
and to cook me my macaroni and noodles
I grew a little older
In no time i was up to your shoulder
And i became stubborn
Thought i knew all their was to learn
Wow was i wrong
Now. How long has that 'stage' been going on?
Don't forget when i told you about my first crush
To me it was such a rush
It was something new
and you helped me through
Than came my first heartbreak
And you said if you could you would take
the pain away
And soon it would all be okay
I continue to grow
But for sure ill always know
You'll be there for me
Even when i drive you crazy
Now i act like a crazy teen on crack
At times i still look back
See how much Ive change
Notice how my world has become strange
But its not just mine, its ours
and without you i wont get far.
I still need you for things
Like whatever the future will bring
And hey
Go ahead and brush my hair like before
Because sometimes my arms get sore
Help me pick out what to wear
Because sometimes what i put on makes people stair
Come help me clean my room
Ill gladly hand you a broom

Mom
You taught  me right from wrong
Raised me to be strong
You couldn't of done any better
Stay like that, The best mom ever
Because i love you
All the things you do
And all the things you've done

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
