    • Been on a hiatus for awhile, but I'm back and have the itch to write some poetry.

    Mom's Poem

    shrouded by a darkened hue
my heart aches from the loss of you
your time on Earth is at an end
so I give the lord my heart to mend
as rivers of tears stream down my face
he tells me you're in a better place
a place where you'll feel pain no more
somewhere that you can truly soar
with the wings of an angel
and the peace of a dove
he says that you're surrounded by love
    your brother and sister
    your mom and your dad
he tells me that I shouldn't be sad
    and to remember this
while my hearts on the mend
    one glorious day
    i'lll see you again

your mother exchanged a smile with the heavenly crowd when you wrote this...we' grieve our loss, but embrace the hope we have as Christians and so can celebrate the passing of our loved ones, even though we will miss them terribly.

this is beautifully written. I can feel the pain that you suffer from, even though I cannot (at the moment at least) understand that kind of loss. I do feel the hope at the end, as well. very well written

Thank you Blackwolf, I had never writtem a poem before, but I felt inspired to do it for her

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
