More Time

Please give me more time

how I can do it all

more time in a day is what I need

Falling apart everywhere I look

The union supposed to last for ever

is teetering on the edge of a cliff

my body is betraying me

and the so called omnipotent sages of our time

prescribe drugs to lull my body into compliance

My mom needs me

plagued by the dark shadows

suffocating her breath

My little girl, my joy, my life, needs me

The bigger girl and the son

I need them

and my sweet grandbaby

can’t think of being without her

my beautiful newly re found friend

and possibly

the love of my life

can’t see myself existing without him

And so I ask for the impossible

more time for all

Help me dear God

not fall apart.
