    Poem Commentary

I camped with my brother on a hill outside of Deckers, Colorado. And this is how wewereawoken each morning. it was so cool.

    Morning Finches

I saw the finches flitting about
In a tree outside the tent
                    In different tone they hopped
                    From branch to branch

Melodious they were like the music box

                    Different note with each hop

                    Precious sounds they ddid make

They did it all for natures sake

A symphony they were in chorus

A private audience just for us

                    Nature's music tis heaven sent

Outside the small window of our tent

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
