Mother Theatre

Behind this curtain I know not the capacity

Yet my character’s heart sits among the

How sweet the beauty beneath the voice warming the seat

Her work flavored tear provides circulation to the feet

Did you see your child take a breath of light?

There was certainly no fallen barricade this night

As long as I live your word will beat within

Not just the cursing of bad performers, but anti-sin

You can’t imagine what your touch has done

Well there once was a man stuck in the sun

I think we’ll leave the rest in Pandora’s Box

For the transition alone could stop the clocks

Chapters of life revealed in one squeeze of your hand

For at least one moment I could flip the sand

One day you’ll sit back and I’ll sweep the stage

No whispers in my wings, no worries of rage

When we trade stares I try to capture that confidence

Oh how it feels to drop negativity to southern independence

I thank you for balancing my scale over the years

Even when my curtain closes, a halo steers

There was no Prometheus granting my flame

Don’t know why but life sure is a moody game

My rose gifted me with a scent before her dismissal

Many flowers are crowned pretty, but beauty gets the whistle

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
