    Poem Commentary

A MIX OF SUSPENSE, LOVE, FATE AND CSI.................

    MR. SAM

Samson was a tall, good looking man with the face of many races,

In his veins ran blood from four continents, he was a unique blend of these places.

Something went wrong years ago that made it seem this bloodline wouldn’t continue,

Its something do with his sexuality and I’ll give you carnation pink as the first clue.

If you guessed right, his wrong was a girl he met in high school when he was fourteen,

She was Eva and two years older but God made her perfect with a skin like honey.

Became a believer in God and love for she was the prettiest creature he’d ever seen,

Then came along nights of passion so hot, Hell would have had a run for its money.

Her experience added to the passion but how she gained it left much to question,

For she was his very first but vice versa, the same thing couldn’t be said for Eva.

That question was answered when Det. Wyatt came by the school for an investigation,

And Sam found out, like six hundred others, her ‘tutor’ was P.E teacher, Mr. Mensah.

They had an affair, but now she’s disappeared and evidence placed her in his apartment,

This was her carnation pink sweater and her hand written note that said “He’s the one”.

Looking guilty, or was he really, this however sealed Mensah’s fate with life imprisonment,

But it wasn’t just enough to comfort the whole town knowing that Eva was forever gone.

And Sam too, wouldn’t move on with his life so he chose to stay fourteen on the inside,

He lived looking for Eva and her love; this is clue two, but allowed Time to age his outside.

Being a chemistry and art teacher at age thirty six couldn’t prepare him for this reaction,

His heart jump-started to life when the new girl in school laughed and caught his attention.

Eva had been reborn with a slightly paler skin and an extra inch to her height,

History reoccurred; make this clue three, as Sam was struck again with love at first sight.

A partial lineage to Mother Russia renamed her Ivana and gave her the Slavonic accents,

Sam vowed he’ll never let her go which set in motion the following series of events….

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.
