My Friend

My Friend
I leave this to you
For whatever will be will be
There's times when we thought
That life would always be
As it is
As it was
But Time moves on
And life takes whatever direction
It will
Some paths will run side by side
For a lifetime
Others only the shortest while
Some will split to run far and wide
But inside we'll hold their smile
A friend will light the fire inside
That burns for us to feel
To dry the tears the nights we've cried
To soothe us and to heal
They share our hopes, our dreams, our fears
And with us throughout the years
They remain
Life will not always be
As it is
As it was
For whatever will be will be
I leave this to you
My Friend
Thank you

Blue, like the sea, waves crashing at high tide just before high tide ends and away with the tides goes friends, thinking it's okay for them to come and go as they please as I stand there rock being battered and bashed and decayed with every smashing return as they pull themselves away from me it's blue like the worst game of cat and mouse, but it's high tide, maybe I'll pick a different colour when the tide is low. and unknown to me of it's return, maybe i'll choose again then.

Interesting reply. I like the way you describe losing a part of you every time the friends leave. Very clever and very true. Nice work and thanks for taking the time to read and rate mine

my heads a crazy place. :)

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
