    My Graduation Speech

"Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.
We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing
new things, because we’re curious… and curiosity keeps
leading us down new paths." – Walt Disney

Honestly, I do not know what exactly to say. 4 years of high school is tough. Especially trying to do all of our homework. On top of that, we have to write this graduation speech. I just do not know what to say, and I do not know how to summarize 4 years of friendships and memories have meant to me. So, here it goes

Hello class of 2010. We are all gathered here today to celebrate what took us 13 years to accomplish, 13 very long years to do. What we all have accomplished is our education. For some, it has been a dream to get here. For others, they had to just scrape by just to be able to get here. Even for some of us, we only kept going to show to others that we can accomplish something with ourselves, to show that we can actually do something with ourselves. So, let it be known that we all have accomplished something with our life's.

Anyway, all of us here have wanted this day to come, but have come to realize that we will be leaving the ones that we have come to be close to. We are all going in different directions, going to different schools, going to other states, or even going to a different county. But, this should not be feared. Fear only lacks the right emotion. Fear should be replaced with happiness, happiness that you and your friends shared and knowing that both of you are going on for something greater, something beyond our own imagination. This should be what all of us want to accomplish out of life. Something like this can be the one destiny that we all share. We all share this goal in life, to be able to do something wonderful with our lives.

We all have memories of our high school life. Some are shared with people that we are close to. Some may even be shared with someone that you did not really care for. For me, I have memories from my close friends, and from people I do not seem to get along with. One brief example is during my freshmen year, with one of my closest friends, Ryan Timm. Here is all that I am going to say about it, there was caramel, new pants, and a lot of hate going on from Ryan. Like what I have said, memories are what we will remember about our high school years. Even drama that has happened to you and your friends count as drama. For me, there has been a lot of drama between me and Brandi, and of course Jessica. Even though you may not know what I am talking about, those two will know what I am talking about. I know that I will always remember them for this, and I will remember them for a bunch more memories than what I have said.

One piece of drama that I will share with you is during my Sophomore year in high school, and it dealt with Mr. Olsen. I wanted some extra credit in that class, and the only way was by reading poems out loud. As some of you may know, Mr. Olsen made me walk all the way to the gym for each poem that I wanted to read. This, of course, frustrated me. Ever since then, Mr. Olsen has been a little grouchy with me. Even though Mr. Olsen gets on my nerves at times, he helps make my memories from my high school years. This will help me know who he was, helps me remember him even more.

Going off of this topic, there will be drama in your life that you will not like. No matter what, just keep going forward with your life. Like the motto I live by, “Smile on, no matter what”, you should too, because no matter what, there is someone out there who's life is in worse shape than yours. The reason I say this is because once you hit rock bottom, you can only go up from there. So, live by what I say, and just keep pushing forward. Don't let anything get in your way of your dreams. If anyone gets in your way, don't be afraid to push them out of the way of becoming the best you can ever become, even if they think they are better than you, or even if they are a Californian.

All of you have affected my life in one way or another, and I know that I have affected your life in one way or another. I wish that you will remember me for the good times that we have had, and I know that I will remember all of you for the good times we have had.

All my friends have impacted my life. Some I have had since middle school. Some I made in high school. Some, I even made this year. They know what makes me mad, they listen to what I say, and I listen to them. The people that I want to thank the most are Jessica, Brandi, Lisa, and Ryan. Thanks you guys. You have been a big help to me, and made me who I am today. I will never forget any of you, and I hope that you 4 will remember me. If any others wish to contact me later on in life, my email is aaron-org@hotmail.com, and my phone number is 321-2597. Call if you wish to contact me.

As I am finishing up, I would just like to say thank you for all the great times I had throughout my journey in school. I know that I will miss those of you who have made an impact on my life, and I am truly sorry that our time together here in school is about to come to an end. I know that we all will become something more, as we progress throughout our lives, and who knows, some of us may even go on to become something greater. Even though our sorrows are strong, and our friendships are grieving, I know that someday we will meet others who will fill in those gaps. But, my only wish is that we will never forget those who made us who we are today. Those people are the people sitting around us. They know what we might become, and who knows, our paths might cross again. So, I'll say once again, DON'T FORGET THOSE OF US WHO MADE YOU WHO YOU ARE TODAY.

So let us all be thankful for today. We all have made it this far, and let us celebrate the victory that we have finally won on this afternoon, our Graduation day.

An outstandingly remarkable graduation speech Aaron and a mastery of intent and yes, always do your best, not overdo, not less; you're " the judge" of yourself. We all can have our dreams! Kudos !

a nostalgic summary of 13 years of college life. I enjoyed it. thank you.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
