My heart

My heart spills onto paper,
In the form of ink,
Betraying itself time after time,
I wonder what it thinks,
Driven by one emotion,
It over powers the mind,
In a world so cruel,
It manages to stay kind,
So many battles lost,
Yet strongly it beats,
Struggling to survive,
As it always meets defeat,
Never surrendering,
Knowing once again it will die,
Invisible tears,
Silently it cries,
Simple words,
In the form of poetry,
Embracing hope,
So passionately

I love the way you talk about emotion in a continuous evolving motion. Its like stepping outside the emotion and observing. That is how I kicked Cigerettes. I stepped outside my addiction and spoke to it as if it were a person. I vocally told it how sly and manipulative it was, that it could not fool me etc. Very nice poem Very different.

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
