    My Light

In my cave,it was subtle and
    undaunted,when I woke to see
    the light,there she was,all
    that I had wanted.
    She was lovely,and always
    pristine,how could this be,
    she was also wanting me.
    We talked of the past,with
    all forgone conclusions,but
    deep inside,we knew our
    love could be without con-
    fusion.
My love for her was firm
    and complete,but to others
    around us,i felt I needed
    to compete.
    She had feelings as well,
on how to deal with the others,
it was difficult for both,to deal
    with the naysayers.
This went on for quite some
    time,and this slowly began
    to fester a difficult time.
    We struggled through,often
    angering our souls,was it time
for me to climb back in
    my hole.
    I see her walk,talk,and throw
    out her beautiful smile,I would
    go across the country,and
    still go the extra mile.
    She does things for me,that
    only I can describe,love and
    feelings like this,one would
    have to subscribe.
    Weve changed jobs,lifestyles,
and found new places to live,
    but through all this,we were
    still able to behave.
She has gone away, on a
    mission,with her plight,my
    love grows stronger,it is
    now time to fight.
    The time is now,that we
    must make a move,our
    hearts and minds are in
    a special groove.
    I love you,and you love
    me,Ive always known,we
    were meant to be.
    Now that I know,that our
    hearts are on the same
    page,the feelings I have,
    are no longer rage.
    I love you sweety,and this
    is from my heart,nothing
    will come between us,
    we will never depart.
    So here we are,we now
    know our storybook plight,
    thankyou my love for letting
    me see the light.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
