Poem Commentary

I started this poem about a year ago and just finished it last night.
I really hope you like it. I don't write poems like this too often.

My Love

Sitting there waiting,
my heart is pounding,
I'm anticipating.
Longing for my wait to end.
Riding up that dirt road that
seems to go on forever,
I hold my breath as
I turn into the drive.
I pick up my luggage and go inside.
As I open the door
I'm greeted by the dog.
I look around but there's no you.
Everthing's been now put away,
It's getting close
To the end of day.
I sit by the window as
I let my mind wander,
But wait, suddenly i'm brought back
Into existance. Is it really you
I see from a distance?
I can't hold any resistance.
I run towards you,
My heart stars to race,
Going faster and faster.
I feel not even my feet
Lifting off of the ground.
I only notice our distances lessening.
Our bodies clash and I melt into
Your loving and caring arms.
Oh god please, don't let this
Blissful moment end.
Every pain in my heart he
Has now come to mend.
Finally again in my
True love's arms,
Every worry and every fear,
Every thing that filled my mind
Before this moment now has
Gone and faded away.
All of my heart and soul,
Now forevermore devoted to you.
I will never leave you.
Never break your heart.
You alone are my one true love.
I will always forever love and
Cherish you till death
Do us temporarily part.
As we now walk back to the
House we call our home
And go inside and live our lives,
This is my ode to you.
I love you, yes
its true, i really do.

You should write more "Love" poetry. I like peotry that is direct, to the point and brings the image to life in my mind. . The greeting of the dog was nice. We all should know that feeling. . I liked the line, "Cherish you till death Do us temporarily part" . Great job! . Peace Out, EinStud .

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
