    My Mothers Hands

    They lifted me in childhood

    They wiped away my tears

They held me close in comfort

    Dispelling all my fears

They scrubbed and cooked and gardened

    They were busy every day

They spanked me when I needed it

And led me all the way

Her heart is good and kind

    Her beauty I could boast

    I love everything about her

But I love her hands the most

Her heart is filled with love

    And love has its demands

This labor of love speaks to me

    In my Mothers hands
