    My Mother's Son

    How could you not know
    My mother's son
That you were born before me to protect me
    How could you not know
    My mother's son
    You are my Idol
    How could you not know
    My mother's son
I would wait for you to see me, To Notice me
    How could you not know
    My mother's son
My sons see you as an Icon as a man larger than life
As a Missing in action Leader
    How could you not know
    My mother's son
    Through all of these years
My heart has been partially filled with happiness from my husband
Happiness from my children, and grandchildren
    How could you not know
    My mother's son
When I turn sideways the hole In my heart can only be filled
    By My mother's son

    Thank you.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
