    My Pandora's Box

     A coma of emotion,
    Has overtaken me -
    I can't feel joy or love, or laugh,
    And grey is all I see.

    This sleep that I am in,
    Leaves behind only pain -
    So I cry myself to sleep at night,
    Before I try to smile again.

    Why did I let this happen?
    I've become so weak and ill.
    I've lost the spirit I had back then,
    And my heart is a grave to fill.

    I'm so tired of this sleep,
    Exhausted by the pain -
    Now all I do is lie in bed,
    And listen to the rain.

    I wish that I had closed
    That box of mine before,
    But now the damage has been done,
    And I can't love you anymore.

    Now I go to sleep again,
    I wish it wasn't this way.
    Each night I dream of what might have been,
    But now there's nothing more to say.
