    MY SON MY FRIEND

My son my friend, my partner in time,
Buddies through the ages, just one, he's mine.
Never could any, be as special as my own,
Always and forever, welcome in my home.

We golf and chat and fish and bowl,
These things , touch my very soul.
Memories not lost, through the time of space,
Never be forgotten, never out of place.

Buddies yes we are, buddies we shall be,
Buddies for eternity, my tiger and me.
You left the nest it's true, to venture on your own,
My slugger, my son, you'll never be alone.

Should you find the road grow weary, find it hard to hoe,
Remember my support, remember I love you so.
Never forget I am here, not very far away,
Never forget I'll be with you, forever and a day.

Should GOD close my eyes, there's a reason for it all,
HE'LL guide and protect you, through each tumble and fall.
You may not accept it, not believe it's true,
For all lifes happenings, tis me that is you!

It sure hurts to let go and let them move on, But its always good to let them know they are loved and missed and wanted, This is a sweet poem, loved it.

Your poem gave me goose bumps, beautiful, loving father speaking to his son with love and assures his son that there is a god who guide and protect him time of need.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
