    My Sophisticated Generation

I belong to a sophisticated generation
The old age idolatry of Baal
And the Sun gods, the Ra
They know, they worship no more

I belong to a generation that worships mental idols
A generation locked in preconception and ideology
A generation whose motives, intentions, actions and thoughts are governed by theories
A generation that values people’s views over God’s principles

I belong to a generation that worships television
Gone are the days when men would go the extra mile in prayer
Now are days men won’t go to sleep without watching soaps
And spend their earnings on cosmopolitan magazines

I belong to a generation of sport and fame
Where soccer, basketball and cricket are the holy of holies
And the athletes are the high priests
    Worshipped and revered

I belong to a sophisticated generation
That is consumed in unseen idolatry
If we would know the end would we take the first step?
Would we restore our Lord God to His throne?

Ever heard of "The Precepts Of Zion" If this book was hoax it was a very prognostercating one. Your work here deftly describes out world in this delusional sidetrack.

then, going to a church doesn’t make a person religious. But I do respect your view of point, you think in the way u have been shaped back then and the modern generation thinks in the way they have been shaped. “We are shaped by each other. We adjust not the reality of the world, but the reality of other thinkers”—Joseph Chilton Pearce

Well, it’s a different time now and you have to respect that, there have been positive and negative things in all ages. Religion was experienced in a small community back in time and people would look up going to the church, mosque or temple cause there weren’t many distractions back then. Now u have the advantage to choose whether u want to go to the church or listen to a religious program on the radio or television. That doesn’t proof that people of our generation love god less then back

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.
