My Sweet Baby James
Three (or so) more months to go
'Til you make your big debut.
My thoughts are captured daily
By my hopes and dreams for you.
I feel your kicks and flutters.
I see your twists and turns.
A big, bright world awaits you.
So much to see, so much to learn.
I wonder what you'll look like.
Your hair, your nose, your eyes.
I'll feed you, rock you, love you.
Sing you soft, sweet lullabyes.
A big sister waits to meet you.
Her name is Mary Jane.
She always asks about you.
Pats my belly, says your name.
Your daddy loves you so much
You will be his pride and joy.
All our dreams wrapped up in blue,
A perfect baby boy.
These first six months have flown by.
Now time starts to slow.
Patience is a virtue,
You still need time to grow.
No telling what the future holds.
Wisdom, fortune, fame?
Surely lots of love and care
For my sweet baby James.
When the day arrives at last
You'll make your entrance to this world.
I'll have my two sunshine babies.
My little boy and my big girl.
