my Sword, my Shield

my Sword, my Shield

Where have you gone?
my Sword, my Shield,
What have I done wrong?
my Sword, my Shield.

You held me so close.
my Strength, my Life
I was your Rose.
my Strength, my Life.

I'm so far from You.
my Hope, my Light,
Hope I "come to".
my Hope, my Light.

I've pushed you away,
my Prince, my Love.
But you never stray,
my Prince, my Love.

I want your embrace,
my Father, my Love.
And the touch of your grace,
my father, my Love.

Hold me real close,
my Prince, my God.
Hold me, your Rose,
my Prince, my God.

Return to Your Kingdom,
I will my Love.
'Till death when it come,
I will my Love.

Stay by your side.
Forever my Prince.
And have you close by.
Forever my Prince.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
