My Treasure

My Treasure

My Daughter, you are the love in my life.
Part of love is caring, part of love is sharing;
and another part of love is protecting.
There is no greater fear to a mother
than when her young are in danger.
Sometimes when a child is taking their first steps
outside of the nest,
all they see are wonderful; magical things.
And what danger is there in magic?

The danger is that you need more time
to grow and learn and explore,
before I know you can protect yourself from all harm.

To keep you  from harm,
sometimes makes me seem
unfair, unwilling, and uncaring.
Believe me, my daughter,
no one Loves you more than me.
And I hurt when you hurt.
But I would hurt even more
if I did not look out for you, while you grow.
Please, my Treasure,
give us the Gift of Time!
