My version of Love vs. Yours

My version of Love vs. Yours

To hard to even speak

I have no words

As she walks out of my life

I have no tears for her

She gave up on us

Quit

Leaving me to my abyss

She cried hard on her way out

She waited for my words to come

But I didn’t have any for her

Just to much going on in my heart

Trying to hold myself together

What can I say to that

What is there to say

To someone who’s willing to give up

The love I believe in doesn’t quit

I was still willing to fight

For what my Heart claimed it wanted

She didn’t have the patience to talk things through

She didn’t desire to fight for what she claimed to love

She simply gave up

What words does such an action deserve

Why would any man give a woman who abandons him

His tears

Certainly not me

Yes it hurts

But I will not cry over a quitter

Over someone willing to walk away

My tears are reserved for True Love

And true love doesn’t abandon, doesn’t quit or walk away

Yes arguments will occur

There will be periods of time that lack communication

But it doesn’t mean I don’t care

If I didn’t care

I wouldn’t argue

I’d just walk out

I’d just give up

Quit

But that isn’t the Love I believe in

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
