    MY YOUNGER DAYS

there's a shadow in the valley
    as the tree tops
    glisten in the evening sun.
    there's a cool breeze
    in the air.
    it's moments like these
    that makes life bearable
    and untorn.
    there's life all around me
    crawling on the ground.
    bird's sing their songs
    squirl's gather their nuts
    as my ears
    take in all the sounds.
    i hear cows
    in the distance
    across the river a ways
i hear the neigh of horses
    behind me.
    for a moment
    i'm lost
    smiling in my younger days.
    they say a wise man
    never wishes to be young.
    i say that wise man
    never was young.
    i would give
    the rest of my life
    to spend one year
    with Steve and Scoby
    when three were one.          steve

beautiful, we all should go back to a time before when everything was simple and life made since . Marie

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
