New Friends

I have a brand new friend

He really is quite sweet

We talk almost every day

It really is a treat

He makes me smile

And when it’s late I have to go

He begs me to stay a while

But my mom says “No!”

He makes me laugh and cry

He is silly

My have the days gone by

He is sweet like a jelly-belly

New friends are great

They all make me smile

I know I can’t wait

But I guess I will wait a while…

A very cheerful, well rhymed, well organized, and to the point poem about young adult friendship. Lighthearted and innocent . I enjoyed reading it.

You are a sweet writer; and it is so evident the way you frame your thoughts into word

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
