    NEXT TO ME

    Curl up next to me
    turn the lights down low
    Turn and look me in the eyes
    and kiss me oh so slow

    Tell me just how much you care
    tell me that you love me
    Press your lips against my lips
    where that leads us we shall see

    Hold me tight against your body
    let me feel your heart
    Pounding oh so hard and fast
    Never shall we part

    I feel the throbbing in your loins
    as we begin to sweat
    The moment grows more intense
    It's a feeling I'll never forget

    Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
